Creating DIY door hangers can be a fun and creative project. Here’s a simple guide to get you started:

Materials Needed

   •   Cardstock or thick paper

   •   Scissors

   •   Hole punch

   •   Ribbon or string (optional)

   •   Markers, paint, or decorative supplies (stickers, washi tape, etc.)

   •   Template (you can find printable templates online or create your own)

Steps

1. Design the Template: Decide on the size and shape of your door hanger. A common shape is a rectangle with a notch cut out for the doorknob.

2. Cut Out the Hanger: Use scissors to cut out your template from cardstock.

3. Decorate: Use markers, paint, or other decorative supplies to personalize your hanger. Consider adding messages like “Welcome,” “Do Not Disturb,” or any custom text.

4. Punch a Hole: Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top of the hanger for the doorknob.

5. Add Ribbon (Optional): If you want a more decorative touch, thread a ribbon or string through the hole and tie a knot.

6. Hang It Up: Place your finished door hanger on the doorknob.

Tips

   •   Consider using waterproof materials if the door hanger will be outdoors.

   •   Get creative with textures by adding fabric or embellishments.

   •   Make seasonal or themed hangers for holidays or special occasions.

Enjoy your crafting!
